BLEPHAROPLASTY MADRID
WHAT IS IT?
The blefaroplastia o cirugía de los párpados It consists of a surgical procedure through which the drooping of the upper eyelids and the bulging of the lower eyelid bags are corrected with the aim of achieving facial rejuvenation. Through this surgery, excess skin and eyelids are removed from the area, which in turn eliminates sadness and tiredness in the eyes.

ANESTHESIA, SURGICAL TIME AND HOSPITAL ADMISSION
Eyelid surgery is performed under local anesthesia and sedation and usually lasts approximately one to two hours. Normally it is not necessary to stay in the clinic more than a few hours after surgery. After surgery, a bandage with “Steristrips” will be applied that will allow the patient to have vision and will be removed along with the stitches 5 days after surgery.
RISKS
It is very important that the surgeon knows the patient's postoperative activities, so that he can give clear indications of what the patient can and cannot do.
Blepharoplasty surgery is a safe technique, as long as it is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. However, and although the incidence rate is very low, as in any operation there may always be complications and associated risks.
Among the complications of this surgery double or blurred vision for a few days, slight asymmetries in healing or temporary edema of the eyelids are found. Furthermore, in a very low percentage of incidence, difficulty in completely closing the eyes or the appearance of ectropion may also appear, that is, the edge of the lower or upper eyelid turns and the inner part of the eyelid is exposed to the outside.
