What is breast lift?
Breast lift is performed on women who have sagging breasts. It is usually the case that, after giving birth, the breasts become empty and hence the sagging that occurs in them. Another reason for performing this lift may be due to significant weight loss.

Types of implants

What does the surgery consist of?
The breast lift It is important that it is done taking into account the desired final volume and shape. To carry out the process, a small scar is made either in the areola or in the chest groove. It can either be submuscular so that the implants are placed below the pectoral muscle or it can be subglandular where the implant is placed below the breast tissue.
If we refer to the incisions made we differentiate either periolar which is performed when dealing with patients who have little breast droop and follows the perimeter of the areola, or vertical which continues from the areola to the breast fold and is performed when we find a more advanced degree of sagging in the chest and finally Anchor which is used when the patient has a severe chest drop. It is usually the most frequent.
What type of anesthesia is used?
Anesthesia and duration
The anesthesia used is local or sedation. In this way the patient is put to sleep but without the need to use general anesthesia.
The process is outpatient so the patient can go home without needing to stay hospitalized. If you wish for greater peace of mind you can stay.
The duration of the intervention is usually one hour but always depending on the patient.
Am I the ideal patient?
The ideal patient is one who wants a less flaccid chest with less sagging. Normally, this type of intervention is performed by patients who, either due to motherhood or due to the passage of time, find themselves with a breast that is saggier than usual.
As we have already mentioned, there are different degrees that are also linked to the alterations or diseases that the patient has suffered. Either because they are of advanced age or because the natural birth of their breast is somewhat sagging, these types of patients are the ones who decide to opt for elevation.
What is the scar and the results like?
We differentiate several types or methods depending on the scar that remains:
⇒ Periaolar mastopexy in which the scars remain around the areola.
⇒Inverted T mastopexy, which is the most common, and is usually performed when the breast is very sagging after the breastfeeding period.
⇒ Mastopexy with vertical scar in which the resulting scars are horizontal due to its own name.
